First impressions in China

Today is Sunday, November 12th.

I am currently in China.

Last week, I released my first podcast, and then it was off to Japan and China.

The reason I was in Japan was to get a Chinese tourist visa, which turned out to be a much harder process than I expected.

I had to visit the China Tourist Center three times.

It's only been six hours since we arrived in China, but my first impression is, "It's cold!"

The temperature is around 0 degrees right now and the city and roads are surprisingly clean.

Compared to Taiwan and Hong Kong, this place seemed very spacious and clean, and the environment was very comfortable to live in...!

Experience in Korea

Now, the main topic today is about my experience in Korea.

In fact, I started my trip around the world on May 14, 2023, and my first destination was South Korea.

Seoul is only a two or three hour flight from Japan, and it gave me the impression of being a modern city similar to Shinjuku or Shibuya.

The internet in Korea is fast and you can get an unlimited SIM card for just a few thousand yen.

In Korea, many people can speak Japanese and English, and older people in particular have a strong connection with Japan. Anime is also popular among young people, which seems to be an incentive for them to learn Japanese.

Korean food culture

The appeal of traveling to Korea is the truly delicious food.

There are plenty of vegetables, so I never get tired of eating Korean food every day!

I especially liked the Korean sausage called "sundae."

Another nice thing is that kimchi and pickles are provided free of charge with meals.

I spent two months in Korea, and during that time I hardly ate any Japanese food, but rather enjoyed Korean food.

At the night market, you can enjoy street food such as hotteok and tteokbokki.

Attractions and Experiences

Seoul is a great city for shopping and dining, but outside of Seoul you'll find Busan's beaches, a famous film festival, and a cultural village with colorful paintings.

South Korea has a variety of tourist attractions, from Seoul in the north to Busan in the south and Jeju Island.

The ocean in Busan and Jeju Island was so beautiful and relaxing!

Conclusion

Korea is very close to Japan and has a similar culture, making it a great choice for your first trip abroad.

The two months I spent in Korea this time was a very intense experience.

If you have the opportunity, be sure to experience Korea's food culture and tourist attractions.

Next time, I would like to talk about an experience that was particularly memorable for me in Korea.

See you again in the next update!
