A month of living in Korea: Discovering the differences and charms of Japan
Share
Hello!
I had the opportunity to live in Korea for a month.
In this article, I will use that experience to provide detailed information about Korean life, culture, cuisine, and more.
It was a wonderful experience that allowed me to experience the differences between Japan and Korea and feel the unique charms of Korea.
1. Similarities with Japan
Life in Korea was similar to Japan in many ways.
The city's structure and lifestyle make it an environment that Japanese people can easily adapt to.
Despite the language barrier, there were many Koreans who could speak Japanese, so communication wasn't too difficult.
2. Obsession with Korean food
Korean food has completely captured my heart.
There are so many dishes to choose from: Sundubu Jjigae, Samgyeopsal, Gukbap, Bibimbap, and more.
One of the charms of living in Korea is being able to enjoy different cuisine every day.
3. The absence of convenience store sweets
Korean convenience stores don't have as many varieties of sweets as Japanese ones, which was a bit disappointing.
However, instead, the cafe culture has developed, and MEGA COFFEE in particular is my favorite.
4. Promoting English and Japanese
English is widely spoken in South Korea, especially among the younger generation.
Also, many people in Seoul speak Japanese, so I had few concerns about the language barrier.
5. Price levels
Prices in Korea are almost the same as in Japan.
Especially when it comes to food and daily necessities, you can expect prices to be in the same range as in Japan.
6. Views and air quality
You can't really expect to see distant views like those in Japan in Korea.
In particular, due to air pollution such as PM2.5, there are days when visibility is poor even on sunny days.
7. Transportation convenience and cost
Buses and trains in Korea are cheap and a very efficient way to get around.
Traveling between cities is easy, and transportation costs are significantly cheaper than in Japan.
summary
Living in Korea for a month allowed me to experience a new culture and enjoy a lifestyle that was different from that in Japan.
Although everyday life in Korea is similar to that in Japan, it is full of its own unique charm.
I hope this article will be helpful for those who are considering traveling to Korea or staying there for a long period of time.
So why not come and experience the charm of Korea?
