Seven things to keep in mind when traveling to Korea for the first time
Share
What should I be aware of when visiting Korea for the first time?
In this article, I will introduce seven points to keep in mind based on my experience traveling to Korea.
Read on to get some tips to make your trip to Korea more enjoyable and smooth.
Seven points
1. Fill out the immigration card
When entering Korea, you will need to fill out an immigration card.
Especially when using low-cost carriers, forms may not be distributed on board, so many people fill them out after being pointed out by a security officer.
Get an immigration card in advance and fill it out well in advance.
2. Money Exchange
If you try to exchange money at a currency exchange office after arriving in Korea, the counter in front of the airport arrival gate may be closed on weekends.
As a result, many people queue up at ATMs, but success is not guaranteed.
We recommend finding an open counter at the airport in advance.
3. T-money (Korean version of Suica)
When purchasing a T-money card at the airport station, there are two prices: 4,000 won and 5,000 won, but these are actually design fees.
If you purchase it at a convenience store, it will cost 2,500 won and there will be no additional charge.
4. How to flush toilet paper
In many Korean toilets, you cannot flush toilet paper.
Paper is generally disposed of in designated trash bins.
Be aware that in some places, this practice can make the toilets smell bad.
5. Where to place chopsticks, spoons, and forks
In many Korean restaurants, chopsticks and spoons are stored in a drawer at the table.
If it's not on the table, check your drawers.
6. Keeping to the right
In Korea, it is common to walk on the right side of the road when on escalators or in train stations.
Knowing this will make your journey smoother.
7. All-you-can-eat kimchi
Many Korean restaurants offer all-you-can-eat kimchi.
Try different kinds of kimchi and enjoy the deliciousness.
summary
Keeping these points in mind will make your first trip to Korea even more enjoyable.
With some advance preparation and a little knowledge, you can enjoy your trip to Korea with peace of mind, even if it's your first time.
Have a wonderful trip in Korea!
